Registration Begins for the the 11th National Laboratory Equipment & Materials Exhibition (IranLab 2024)

The 11th Iran-Made Laboratory Equipment, Chemicals, and Advanced Testing Exhibition will showcase domestically developed technological products and services across fourteen specialized industry sectors.

The 11th Iran-Made Laboratory Equipment, Chemicals, and Advanced Testing Exhibition will showcase domestically developed technological products and services across fourteen specialized industry sectors.

Javad Mashaiekh, Deputy for the Development of the Knowledge-Based Economy at the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, referring to the start of the registration process for the 11th Iran-Made Laboratory Equipment, Chemicals, and Advanced Testing Exhibition, stated that the exhibition will be held from January 2 to January 5, 2024 (12–15 Dey 1402) at the Tehran International Fairground.

Mashaiekh said that the addition of advanced testing and examination equipment to the exhibition, following the inclusion of the term “Knowledge-Based Economy” in the title of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, was intended to expand the market for companies manufacturing testing and examination equipment and connect them with applicants from the industrial sector.

He added that during the 10th edition of the exhibition, held in December 2022, approximately 400 companies presented 9,000 product models, which have so far resulted in sales of 1900 billion Rials worth of products through the exhibition.

Fourteen Specialized Sections

The Head of the 11th Iran-Made Laboratory Equipment, Chemicals, and Advanced Testing Exhibition stated that the exhibition will be held in fourteen thematic sections: Oil and Petrochemicals, Electronics, Software, and Simulators, Civil Engineering and Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry and Metallurgy, Agriculture and Environment, Basic Physics, General Laboratory Equipment, Laboratory Materials, Medical Engineering and Biomaterials, Laboratory Furniture and Infrastructure Services, Calibration Services, Educational Equipment, School Laboratory Equipment He noted that, in addition to laboratory equipment required by universities and research centers, companies will also be able to present products suitable for testing and examination applications in various industrial sectors.

Mashaiekh noted that the final participation of registered companies in the exhibition will be subject to the technical approval of their products and verification of their role in localization efforts and in achieving manufacturing or production technologies.

He further explained that products will be evaluated and classified according to knowledge-based criteria, intrinsic technology level, and degree of localization. Companies may review the product technical evaluation guidelines on the exhibition website.

Support for Domestic Manufacturers and Innovators

The Deputy for the Development of the Knowledge-Based Economy explained the exhibition’s support programs: As in the previous year, for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 products presented by participating companies, subsidies equivalent to 40%, 25%, and 10% respectively of the purchase price paid by governmental scientific and research institutions will be provided in accordance with the product classification regulations.

Mashaiekh added that, in order to support quality improvement of products presented at the exhibition, an additional 5% support will be granted to products that have obtained CE certificates, product conformity certificates, standards compliance certificates, or industrial design certificates.

Company Registration and Product Registration

The Head of the Exhibition added that the process of company registration and product registration began on September 23, 2023 (1 Mehr 1402) through the exhibition website and will continue according to the exhibition’s implementation schedule.

According to Mashaiekh, in order to facilitate coordination with universities and scientific and research centers across the country and provide sufficient time for product evaluation, the issuance of proforma invoices by companies will begin on December 22, 2023 (1 Dey 1402). It is understood that the process of contract signing and finalizing purchases will take place after the exhibition has been held.

Creating a Permanent Platform for Matching Supply and Demand

The Deputy for the Development of the Knowledge-Based Economy stated that, in order to further stimulate the market for companies supplying laboratory equipment and materials and create a permanent platform for matching supply and demand, leasing facilities will be offered to private-sector buyers.

He added that, since this program is implemented throughout the year, manufacturers of related products that have participated in the exhibition may register new products on the exhibition website at any time during the year.
